Custom ADA Signs

EA Sign, Inc. understands the importance of manufacturing signs that are both functional, in terms of the letter of the law and always attractive, getting people's attention and drawing in new business.

Americans Disabilities Act (ADA) Signage guidelines are intended to make facilities accessible to the blind and visually impaired. Places of “public accommodations” and “commercial facilities” are required to comply with these guidelines.

ADA Sign - Braille SignEA Sign, Inc. knows that most individuals and businesses do not have a graphic design department. We have the time-tested expertise to design, create and manufacture the signs to exceed what you or your customer may need. EA Sign, Inc. will be able to work with you and your budget.

In the simplest form, ADA requirements state that any room or office that is permanent and accessible to the public must be marked with ADA regulated signage. The most obvious example is restrooms. We make all of our ADA signs to comply with California Braille Standards - Title 24 unless something different is specified.

We use the Raster Braille method at EA Sign, Inc., which is a domed “dot,” meeting all the ADA requirements. This produces a clean, vandal-proof sign that will last indefinitely.

Designing Your ADA Sign

You will need to decide on a color scheme. Any color(s) can be used, but there needs to be a 70% contrast between the background color and text/graphic color. We have many color choices and different types of materials to use to enhance the end results and totally meet your needs.

  • Choose sign size
  • Indicate what text will be printed and if pictograms will be included in your  sign
  • Choose your colors for background and lettering
  • Choose a mounting style (based on the type of sign and the surface on which it will be mounted)
  • Choose the corner shape:  square or rounded
